Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the questions we are asked most often. If yours isn't here, just ask us.

General

CDM (Construction Design and Management) relates to the CDM 2015 Regulations covering all construction projects. BRPD (Building Regulations Principal Designer) is a role created by the Building Safety Act 2022 specifically for higher-risk buildings. While similar, BRPD has additional duties around the Gateway process and Golden Thread documentation.
If you are responsible for a workplace, commercial premises, or rental property with common areas, you are legally required to have a fire risk assessment under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This includes offices, shops, care homes, HMOs, and most non-domestic premises.

Training

IOSH courses are shorter awareness and management courses suitable for supervisors and general staff. NEBOSH qualifications are more in-depth professional qualifications ideal for those pursuing H&S as a career. IOSH Managing Safely is 3-4 days, while NEBOSH General Certificate is typically 10 days.
Yes, we offer in-house training delivery at your premises for most of our courses. This is often more cost-effective for groups and allows us to tailor examples to your specific workplace. Contact us for group pricing.
