Our CDM Client Adviser service is designed to support Clients in fulfilling their legal duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. We act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that health and safety is properly managed from project inception through to completion.

Our CDM Client Adviser services include:

  • Advising the Client on the appointment of competent Principal Designers and Principal Contractors, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 competency requirements.
  • Monitoring and advising on the performance and compliance of the appointed Principal Designer and Principal Contractor in relation to their statutory duties.
  • Advising on and coordinating the submission of F10 notifications to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for notifiable projects.
  • Ensuring Pre-Construction Information (PCI) is prepared in good time and is suitable, sufficient, and communicated to all relevant dutyholders.
  • Reviewing and advising on the adequacy of the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) prior to the commencement of construction works.

CDM (Construction Design and Management) relates to the CDM 2015 Regulations covering all construction projects. BRPD (Building Regulations Principal Designer) is a role created by the Building Safety Act 2022 specifically for higher-risk buildings. While similar, BRPD has additional duties around the Gateway process and Golden Thread documentation.

If you are responsible for a workplace, commercial premises, or rental property with common areas, you are legally required to have a fire risk assessment under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This includes offices, shops, care homes, HMOs, and most non-domestic premises.

IOSH courses are shorter awareness and management courses suitable for supervisors and general staff. NEBOSH qualifications are more in-depth professional qualifications ideal for those pursuing H&S as a career. IOSH Managing Safely is 3-4 days, while NEBOSH General Certificate is typically 10 days.

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, every employer must appoint one or more competent persons to assist them in meeting their health and safety duties. This can be an employee with sufficient training or an external consultant like ourselves.
