Principal Contractor Advisor

Our Principal Contractor Adviser service provides practical, proportionate, and competent support to assist Principal Contractors in meeting their duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. We work alongside the Principal Contractor to help manage health and safety effectively throughout the construction phase of the project.

Our Principal Contractor Adviser services include:

• Providing ongoing health and safety advice to the Principal Contractor throughout the duration of the project.
• Supporting the Principal Contractor in the event of any health and safety incident or accident, including:
  • RIDDOR reporting requirements
  • Health and safety-related claims or litigation
  • HSE or Local Authority site visits, investigations, and enforcement action.
• Preparing and maintaining a project-specific Construction Phase Plan (CPP) in accordance with CDM 2015.
• Preparing task-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) tailored to the scope and risks of the works.
• Carrying out regular (monthly) site health and safety inspections, with written reports and practical recommendations. ^*
• Preparing Site Fire Risk Assessments and reviewing emergency arrangements. ^*
• Providing assistance with Client CDM duties on Domestic Client projects, where the Principal Contractor assumes the Client role under CDM 2015. ^*
• Advising on and coordinating the submission of F10 notifications to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). ^*
• Preparing demolition plans and supporting documentation where demolition forms part of the works. ^*
• Delivering health and safety training, including site inductions and toolbox talks. ^*
• Providing face fit testing in accordance with relevant HSE guidance. ^*
• Preparing COSHH Assessments for hazardous substances used on site. ^*
• Assisting with the preparation of Building Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals and Health & Safety Files, as required. ^*
